Funding Boost For Sheffield Manufacturer

Funding

A specialist maker of tools used by the precision manufacturing industry has received funding from Reparo Finance alongside equity investment from a group of Sheffield entrepreneurs.

Taylor and Jones, a maker of reamers, is now targeting growth following the investment from the Manchester lender and entrepreneurs Nick Alexander, Terry Lee, Mark Stanley and Chris Sellars from Atkinson Walker Saws.

Tony Egley, managing director of Sheffield-based Taylor and Jones, said: “The business had been unloved for some time when we took it over.

“We have worked hard over the past two years to rebuild confidence in the brand and put the business on firm foundations. We knew we wanted to push for growth and we feel the help from Reparo and our new investors will give us the boost and support that we need.”

Chris Sellars, who has joined the Board of Taylor and Jones as part of the investment, said: “We know and respect Tony and recognise the value of the Taylor and Jones brand – it has genuine international reach.

“When Tony asked for our support we jumped at the opportunity. As a team we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working together at Atkinson Walker Saws and feel that we have a great deal to offer to Taylor and Jones.”

Andrew Ward, managing director of Reparo Finance, added: “We are delighted to work with Chris and Tony to support the growth of Taylor and Jones. It is great to work with a Sheffield engineering business as it embarks on the next stage of its business plan.”
